Street Escape is a browser driving game about outrunning the police. You steer a blocky car through crowded city streets, drift around corners, dodge traffic and scoop up coins while patrol cars pile up behind you. It runs free in the browser, so there is nothing to install and no account to make.

An Endless Police Chase in a Blocky City

There is no finish line to reach. A run lasts as long as you can stay ahead of the law, and distance is the score. The city is built from chunky blocks and bright colors, sunny streets up front and tighter corners the deeper you go. Traffic keeps coming, buildings sit right at the edge of every turn, and those sirens behind you get louder the longer a chase drags on. Wreck into a truck or a wall and the run is over, usually with a police car parked on your bumper.

Cops do not stay polite for long either. One patrol car gives way to two, then a small fleet, each one cutting a different line through the streets. Corners that felt easy a minute ago start to feel narrow. That pressure is the part of Street Escape I enjoy most, because a long run never feels handed to you.

Street Escape Gameplay Basics

The car rolls forward on its own, so your job is smaller than it looks. A single click swings the nose of the car into a new direction, and when the timing is right the rear tires slide and you drift. Drifting is the quickest way around a corner and the cleanest way to slip past a police car that is closing in. It looks good too, smoke pouring off the wheels while the city smears past.

Coins sit along the streets and near the trickier corners. Grab what you can without breaking your line, because a crash costs you the whole run and every coin in it. Longer getaways mean more chances at those coins, and the coins build toward fresh rides. The starter car does the job, but the garage fills up over time, which gives you a reason to take one more run after a messy one.

Coins, New Cars and Rising Pressure

Nothing on screen counts down, so greed is the only thing pushing you into danger. I usually take the safe line for the first half minute, then start clipping corners tighter once a second cop shows up. That balance between grabbing coins and staying clean is most of the game. New vehicles unlock with the coins you collect across runs, and each one changes how the turns feel, so the garage is worth working toward instead of being a decorative screen.

How the Controls Work

Everything runs on one input, which makes the game easy to start and hard to master.

Left click: swings the car into a turn and kicks off a drift through the corner.
Tap: does the same thing on phones and tablets, since the game also runs on touch screens.

That is the whole control scheme. No gas, no brake, no handbrake key to memorize. Timing is everything. Click late and you clip the wall, click early and the car drifts wide into oncoming traffic.
