Count Masters

Count Masters is a free browser runner where you steer a crew of stickmen down a track, pick gates that multiply your numbers, and slam the whole crowd into rival mobs. No download, no account, it just runs in the browser on desktop or phone.

How a Count Masters Run Plays Out

The track scrolls forward on its own and your stickmen follow. Your only real job is to slide the whole group left and right, and the gates do the rest. Most gates carry a number: a plus value adds that many fighters, a multiplier grows the crowd, and the red ones cut your squad down. Two gates usually sit side by side, so the decision takes about a second. Grab the wrong one and you watch a healthy crowd turn skinny.

A run finishes at the castle gate, where a boss crowd waits. Charge in with more stickmen than the defenders have and the pile clears out fast. Charge in with fewer and your run ends right there. That final clash is where all the gate math pays off, in a good way or a stupid way.

Coins from every attempt go into upgrades, so even a lousy run pushes the next one forward a little. That loop is simple, and it keeps pulling me back when I have five minutes to kill.

Reading Gates and Choosing Paths

There is more thinking here than the genre usually asks for, and that surprised me. A multiplier gate looks amazing until you notice it sits behind a row of spinning hammers. The smaller plus gate beside it will never win a beauty contest, but it keeps bodies on the track, and bodies win fights.

  • Compare values, not arrows. A modest gate you actually reach beats a huge one you clip an obstacle on.
  • Treat red gates and spike rows as damage. They are not a real choice.
  • Bank coins for permanent upgrades instead of chasing one perfect run.
  • Count the enemy crowd before the last clash, then decide how greedy the route can be.

Controls for Mouse, Keyboard and Touch

The game asks for one hand and one motion, nothing else. Here is the whole input list.

  • Mouse: move the pointer left or right and the crowd follows it. Left click selects menu buttons.
  • Keyboard: hold the arrow keys to slide the crowd sideways. Spacebar confirms menu choices.
  • Touch: swipe left or right to steer the crowd.

It runs fine on a phone, which is honestly where this kind of game belongs.

What the Crowd Clash Feels Like

Stickmen have no business being this much fun to throw around. The whole thing runs in 3D with simple shapes, bright tracks and colors that pop, and watching a hundred little figures plow into an enemy wall never stops being funny. Sound stays minimal, runs last about a minute, and the difficulty ramps up once the later castles show up. The build most browsers load has been on GameDistribution since 2022, so it is well settled. FreePlay made it, and the studio clearly understood that the fun lives in the swing between a huge crowd and a wiped one.
