Vex 9 is a stickman platformer where you run, jump and slide through parkour stages packed with saws, bombs and other deadly traps. It is free to play in the browser, no download, and every Act is short enough to retry without losing much time.
Traps, Bombs and Other Deadly Surprises
The game arrived on 15 May 2026 and currently sits at a 9.6 rating from 24 votes. That score is easy to believe once a few saw blades have cut a run short. Everything is built in HTML5, so it loads on desktop, tablet and mobile browsers without an install step, and the touch layout does not feel like an afterthought.
The old formula is still doing the heavy lifting. You control a thin stickman with no health bar, and brushing against the wrong object sends you back to the last checkpoint or to the start of the Act. Some deaths are genuinely funny. Others are maddening. Both keep the retry button warm.
Vex 9 Adds a Jetpack to the Usual Parkour
The biggest change this time is the jetpack. A few sections take away the floor and leave you hovering over spikes, drifting toward the next platform while the traps keep moving below. It flips the usual rhythm. Instead of planning every single jump, you manage height and hope the thrust lasts until something solid shows up.
Challenge Mode is the other addition, and it does not go easy on anyone. The Acts already ask for clean timing, and the challenges trim away every spare second. Later sections stack hazards so tightly that a single early jump ruins the whole attempt. Watching a pattern for a few seconds beats rushing in almost every time, and that patience is what separates a lucky clear from a real one.
The physics of the moving parts matter more than raw speed. Spinning blades and sliding blocks keep their own beat, and learning that beat is most of the game. Runs feel tense without tipping into unfair, at least until the bombs start showing up in pairs.
The Controls Stay Out of the Way
Four inputs cover everything:
- Left arrow moves the stickman left
- Right arrow moves him right
- Up arrow jumps
- Down arrow slides under low traps and spinning blades
- On phones and tablets, on-screen buttons replace the arrows and do the same jobs
There is no mouse aiming, no inventory and no attack button. If a jump looks impossible, it usually is not. It just needs a cleaner run up and a bit less panic.
