Vex 7

Gritty and a little smug, Vex 7 makes you want to throw your keyboard and then go back for the next level five minutes later.

It feels tight and twitchy, like every pixel matters. You basically sprint through obstacle courses, time jumps, cling to walls and dodge spikes while the level tries to outsmart you. Moments of smooth flow pop up between brief rages, and when a run clicks it is oddly satisfying.

Controls are simple in practice: think arrow keys or WASD for movement and a single jump button, with occasional double jump or dash quirks. Nothing fancy. I play with keyboard and I swear the timing window is both tiny and fair enough to learn.

My bias is obvious I adore punishing platformers so Vex 7 hits that sweet spot of brutal but rewarding. Casual advice try small, repeated runs focus on pattern recognition and don’t force speed if you keep dying at the same trap. Learn the rhythm of the saws and wall bounces and save the big leaps until you have momentum.

If you like Super Meat Boy, Celeste, Geometry Dash or Run 3 you’ll recognize the DNA here. It’s sticky, sometimes maddening, and you will come back.
