You load Mahjong Classic and the screen is just tiles, a neat mountain of little pictures stacked into a dragon or turtle shape, glossy and slightly too perfect. The shadows make the top tiles look clickable, and that satisfying clack when you select one is already halfway to zen.
What you actually do is simple, you find matching free tiles and remove them until the board is cleared. Most puzzles are about spotting which tiles are uncovered first, planning a couple moves ahead, and avoiding freeing useless pairs. It feels slow and oddly soothing, like sorting a messy drawer but with more tiny dragons. I get bored if levels drag on, but I like the tiny victories when the last pair pops.
If you get stuck, scan the outer edges and top layers before reshuffling, and use a hint only when you really need it because the fun is in solving it yourself. Sometimes clicking around reveals patterns you missed, so donโt be shy about testing matches. Also, the timer is optional in some modes, so turn it off if you want to take your time.
