Fishy
You miss a tiny minnow by a pixel and your heart does that stupid little leap, then you remember you can still dart and maybe grab the next one.
You play as a small fish, glide around a colorful sea, eat anything smaller, avoid anything bigger, and grow until you become ridiculous. Movement is simple, but the game feels both chill and twitchy at the same time, like a lazy afternoon that suddenly turns into frantic snapping. It gets addictive fast, in a silly way.
Controls are basic, so you spend more time worrying about angles than remembering keys. Use arrow keys or WASD to move, mouse can point and click in some versions, and there is usually a dash or boost on space or a click. I usually circle prey slowly then hit dash when they are cornered, works more than you would think.
- Move: Arrow keys or WASD, mouse aiming also works
- Dash/boost: Space or mouse click in many builds
- Pause/menu: Esc or P
What you basically do is nibble and survive, careful positioning matters more than reflexes most of the time. The map feels alive, predators chase, schools of fish scatter, and loud moments come out of nowhere. I like how it never pretends to be deep, it just does the eating and growing loop really well.
If you want to last longer, avoid open water when you are tiny, use coral or kelp as cover, and donโt chase a slightly bigger fish unless you have room to escape. Also, it helps to let larger predators fight each other instead of getting involved.
Feels similar to Agar.io, Feeding Frenzy, Osmos, Hungry Shark, and Little Big Snake, but smaller in scope and more focused on that grow or get eaten loop. Simple, fun, and a little bit infuriating when a whale shows up and swallows your whole day.
