Earn to Die 2

Earn to Die 2 is a side-scrolling driving game about escaping a city full of zombies in a beaten up car. You hold the gas, smash through the horde, and spend the cash you earn on upgrades until the vehicle can clear the whole road. It runs in the browser on desktop, tablet and mobile, with nothing to download.

The Road Out of the Zombie City

The story is thin and that is fine. A virus wrecked the city, the evacuation ship is waiting somewhere past the skyline, and the only thing between you and a seat on it is a scrap car that barely turns over. The streets are packed with shambling zombies, dead buses and crumbled pavement. Every attempt pays out cash based on the distance you covered and the number of bodies you went through. Then it is straight back to the garage.

What a Typical Attempt Looks Like

A run starts with a press of the gas and usually ends with the car upside down in a ditch. You push left to right across a 2D course, riding over hills, launching off ramps and ploughing into crowds without slowing down. There is something funny about the way zombies tumble through the air after a clean hit, and the game never takes itself too seriously. Fuel is the real clock. Coasting down slopes instead of holding the throttle stretches a tank much further, and that matters when the next checkpoint is still a long way off. Reaching one keeps the trip alive with a fresh stretch of road. Running dry or flipping one too many times ends the attempt, but the cash is yours to keep.

The Earn to Die 2 Upgrade Loop

The garage is where this game gets its hooks in. Engine parts raise the top speed, tires help the car climb and land, armor holds the body together after heavy impacts, and a bigger tank buys precious seconds on the road. Boost is the fun one, a short burst that can rescue a bad jump or turn a slow patch into a shredder. New vehicles unlock as you push further, and each one is heavier and meaner than the last. It holds an 8.8 rating from 50 votes, which feels fair for a browser game released on 27 May 2026. The physics do most of the talking, so a sloppy landing can wreck a good run in seconds.

Keyboard Controls and Touch Buttons

The keys are simple to learn and hard to use well. On desktop:

  • W or Up arrow accelerates.
  • S or Down arrow brakes and reverses.
  • A or Left arrow tilts the car backward, while D or Right arrow tilts it forward. In the air this is how you stop a nose dive.
  • X fires the boost. Some builds also accept Ctrl, Z or J for the same job.
  • Enter confirms the choices in the garage menus.

On a phone or tablet the same inputs appear as on-screen touch buttons, so nothing changes about how a run plays. The game is HTML5, so it opens in the browser on desktop, tablet and mobile without an install.
