Stickman Battle is a free browser fighting game about two stick figures trading blows in a small 2D arena. You control one fighter, throw strikes, jump and dash around the stage, and try to knock the rival down before the round ends. It runs in a browser tab on desktop and mobile with no download.
What a Duel Actually Feels Like
The pace is the draw here. Rounds are short, the arena is narrow, and both fighters start close enough that backing off forever is not an option. Hits send stickmen skidding across the sand, and a late knockdown can settle a match that looked lost a second earlier. I like that the game never asks you to learn a huge move list. A handful of attacks and a dash are enough to get going, and the depth shows up in how you use them. The side-on camera helps too, because you can read the rival’s wind-up and pick your answer instead of guessing.
Moves, Abilities and Spacing
Each duel follows a rough rhythm: close the gap, look for an opening, commit to a strike, then reset. Jumping lifts your fighter over low swings, while a well-timed dash carries you out of a bad exchange. Special abilities deal more damage than normal hits, but they leave your stickman exposed when they miss, so they are best saved for a moment when the rival cannot answer. Knockdowns are your green light. When the other fighter is on the floor, you can press the advantage before they recover. Wins usually come from small reads rather than constant pressure: bait a swing, dodge it, and punish the recovery. The same loop carries through every arena round, win or lose.
Keyboard and Touch Controls
The input layout is small enough to learn in one round:
- A and D move your fighter left and right
- W jumps over incoming attacks
- J throws your basic strike
- K triggers the dash
- Numpad 1 to Numpad 4 fire the special abilities
On a phone or tablet, on-screen touch buttons replace the keyboard, and all the same moves stay available.
Release, Platforms and Quick Sessions
Stickman Battle arrived on 12 December 2025, and it is still a young game, which shows in how focused the build feels. It is an HTML5 title, so the whole thing lives in a browser tab on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Nothing installs, nothing asks for an account, and a full round rarely takes more than a couple of minutes. That makes it easy to fit a few fights into a break. Since there is no progress to lose, closing the tab mid-match costs you nothing.
Habits That Win More Rounds
Spacing matters more than aggression. Park your fighter just outside the rival’s reach, wait for the swing, and step in while they are stuck in recovery. Hold the dash for escapes rather than using it to charge in, because a burned dash leaves you open for a full punish. Specials deserve patience as well; a miss usually costs more than a hit gains. Mixing jumps with low strikes keeps the rival guessing, and knockdowns are the moment to push forward. Run a few rematches against the same opponent and the pattern behind their attacks starts to show itself.
