Mexico Rex

Mexico Rex is a free browser action game about a T-rex with a mounted minigun tearing through Mexican streets. You stomp through levels, eat people, blast traffic and smash buildings while chasing a high destruction score. It runs right in the browser with no download needed, on desktop or mobile.

A Dinosaur With a Minigun Rig

Mexico Rex drops a heavily armed dinosaur into city streets and lets the property damage pile up. The Rex carries a machine gun rig across its shoulder, and both the jaws and the trigger are under your control. Vehicles flip, walls come apart, and everyone on the sidewalk scatters the second you appear. The setup is nonsense in the best way: a dinosaur wanders into town, finds a weapon, and nothing stops it. The game arrived back in 2017 and still runs on plain HTML5, which means it loads quickly and plays the same on desktop, tablet and mobile.

How a Level Usually Plays Out

Every stage asks the same basic thing: survive to the end and cause as much destruction as you can along the way. You eat any human you catch, crush cars with your snout, and switch to the minigun when something is too far away to bite. Your score climbs with every exploded vehicle and flattened structure. Clear a level and the game rates the carnage with up to three jalapenos. Later stages squeeze you into tighter streets with tougher resistance, and there are multiple unlockable levels, so an early stage is worth replaying when a jalapeno slips away.

The minigun is the part worth sticking around for. Biting stays fun for a while, but holding the trigger down and watching a whole street of vehicles turn into one long chain of explosions never really gets old. Walking is slow, so plan a rough route through each level instead of wandering. Standing still in the open just invites every enemy in range to line up a shot.

Keyboard and Mouse Controls

The game keeps things simple and uses the keyboard and mouse together:

W, A, S, D or the arrow keys move the Rex across the level.
W or the Up Arrow jumps.
S or the Down Arrow makes the Rex crouch low.
The mouse handles attacks, so click to bite or shoot at whatever is in front of you.
Hold the mouse button to keep the minigun firing until you let go.
