KS Z

KS Z is a free multiplayer tactical shooter you play right in the browser, no download and no install steps. You join the red or blue team, pick a weapon and fight through short objective rounds against real players. The look is bright and stylized 3D, and the matches move along at a decent clip.

Red Team, Blue Team, and Five Modes

Every round starts with a side choice, and the two teams do not carry the same arsenal, so the pick matters more than it looks. Teams and Bomb are the objective driven modes, Bomb being the one where the whole match swings on a single planted charge. Deathmatch is straight elimination, Zombies throws zombie enemies at everyone, and All Against Everyone drops the teams entirely for free for all combat. Five modes, one queue, so you never sit in a lobby for long.

How KS Z Rounds Usually Play Out

Gunplay here is not only about who shoots first. You can drop an enemy the normal way or go for the disarm and capture option, which turns a firefight into a small rescue mission and gives your team a living prisoner instead of a body. Holding angles, watching the objective and moving with a teammate wins more rounds than running in alone, and the three battlefield locations all reward that slower approach, at least until the shooting starts. Matches lean competitive, though the stylized visuals keep the mood light. Losing a round because I broke off from my squad happens more often than I would like to admit, and it is almost never worth it.

Controls on Desktop and Touch

The developer, NOT_Lonely, keeps the input simple. On a PC or laptop with a mouse:

  • WASD moves your character.
  • Shift makes you walk slowly, which is handy when you do not want to announce yourself.
  • Space jumps.
  • C makes you crouch.
  • Left mouse button shoots.
  • E picks up or takes away a weapon from someone on the ground.
  • F examines the weapon in your hands.
  • 1, 2 and 3 swap between your weapons.
  • 4, 5 and 6 throw grenades.
  • Q activates an upgrade.

To grab a weapon from a downed enemy you switch to your hands, aim at it and press the interaction button, which is E on desktop and an on screen button on a phone or tablet, where the whole scheme becomes touch controls.

Weapons, Skins and the Small Stuff

There are 17 weapon types in total, grenades included, and the spread is wide enough that you will find a favourite before long. Bright weapon skins show up on the battlefield as trophies you can pick up and then apply to your own gear from the inventory, which is a nicer loop than another shop screen. The game has been out since November 2024 and runs on Unity, so it loads on desktop, tablet and mobile alike without a separate app. Its 7.8 rating from 64 votes on the portal listing feels about right to me, good enough for a quick session, not polished to death.
