City Sniper is a shooting game for the browser, developed by minigame studio, where you watch a city block through a rifle scope and take out armed targets moving behind windows, along stairwells and across rooftops. It plays on desktop and mobile, and nothing needs to be installed.
Scanning Windows and Floors Before You Shoot
The map is a short row of brick buildings, the kind with water tanks on the roof and lit windows on every floor. You never see the whole street at once. A figure crosses a window, vanishes into a corridor and turns up two floors higher, and most of your time goes into watching for that movement rather than firing. Targets move between balconies and stairwells at their own pace, so learning the route each one takes is worth more than a quick trigger finger.
Every shot counts and the game keeps score of how clean the run was. Missing at the wrong moment drags the mission result down, which stings more than it sounds like it should. That pressure is the part I actually enjoy. It turns a simple point and click into something closer to a small puzzle, where the answer is one calm second instead of a burst of fire.
Careful Timing Beats Fast Reflexes
Plenty of browser shooters reward twitch aim. This one leans the other way. The scope cuts your view down to a circle, the crosshair drifts slower than you expect, and targets keep walking until they finally stop in a doorway. New players fire early and watch their accuracy fall apart. Letting one target walk a little further usually works out better.
The scoped view also dims everything outside the circle, so tracking a moving figure means dragging the view along with them and guessing where they will pause next. The gap between spotting a target and squeezing off the shot is where the whole game lives, and it is a much calmer feeling than the cover art suggests.
Controls for Mouse and Touch Screens
The scheme is the same on desktop and phone, only the input changes.
- Press and hold the screen, or hold the left mouse button, to raise the scope and start aiming.
- Drag your finger, or move the mouse, to slide the crosshair onto a target.
- Release to fire at whatever the crosshair is covering.
- Release with the crosshair on empty space and the bullet is gone, so line the shot up first.
The game never asks for a movement key or a reload button, so the first minute stays simple. If holding feels awkward at the start, a slower drag and a later release will fix most of it.
Who Made City Sniper and How Players Rate It
The game comes from minigame studio, the team behind Sniper Attack2, and it arrived in April 2026 with a fresh update in August 2026. It runs as an HTML5 build on PC, Android and iOS, in landscape or portrait, with an English interface. On Playgama it sits at 4.3 out of 5 from 223 votes, and the daily leaderboard tracks 520 players, with the best score above 8700. Logging in saves your progress, which matters if the leaderboard is the reason you keep coming back.
