Knockout

Knockout is a free browser party game where blocky penguins slide across icy arenas and knock each other out. You pick a direction, load up power, then watch your penguin rocket across the ice. Rounds are short, funny and a bit chaotic. It runs right in your browser with no download, and the last penguin standing takes the win.

Twelve Penguins On One Sheet Of Ice

Every round crowds a dozen blocky penguins onto the same slippery arena, and the ice breaks away as the match goes on. You cannot see what the others are planning, so the seconds after everyone launches are pure guesswork. Somebody always overshoots and sails straight off the edge. Somebody else barely taps forward and survives the pileup in the middle. The shrinking floor keeps pushing everyone together, and that is when the real knockouts start.

How A Round Unfolds

Each match opens with a short planning phase. You choose a direction and a launch power, and the game hides that choice until the countdown ends. Then every penguin slides at once. Hitting a rival shoves it toward the edges, and the ice under your feet keeps breaking away. A round ends when one penguin is left, or when the arena runs out and nobody is standing.

Aiming matters more than raw power here. A short, well placed charge that clips a rival can win a round, while a huge charge pointed at empty ice carries you off the map. Nobody can see where anyone is pointed before the slide starts, so the read is a guess either way. I have lost plenty of rounds to my own big swings.

Knockout Rounds Reward Patience Over Power

Patience does not sound exciting, but it wins rounds. Take the smallest charge that still reaches your target, because a weak miss keeps you safely near the center. Watch the shrinking border instead of hunting knockouts, since the ice claims more penguins than any player does. If someone is lined up on you, sliding away early is not cowardice, it is a free elimination for them when they miss. Also worth knowing, the game holds a solid 8.3 rating from 52 votes, which says the crowd keeps coming back. Knockout was released on 20 December 2025 by developer braxworks, and this browser build is HTML5, so it loads on desktop, tablet and phone without an install.

Controls In The Browser Version

Everything runs on the mouse on desktop, and touch screens work the same way:

  • Mouse: move it to point the aim line in the direction you want your penguin to slide.
  • Left click and drag: stretch the aim line and build launch power. A longer line means a harder shove.
  • Release the button: lock in the angle and power, and your penguin takes off.
  • Touch screens: tap and drag to aim and charge, then lift your finger to confirm the shot.

The planning timer is short, so decide fast. You can keep adjusting until it runs out, and nothing is locked in until you release or the countdown ends.
