Get Yoked is a free browser deckbuilding roguelike about bodybuilding, where you play workout cards to grow a character and win competitions. You train, rest, dodge injuries and manage stamina between shows, and it runs instantly in the browser with no download. It plays on desktop, tablet and phone.
A Card Game About Getting Big
This one comes from solo developer Greg Austin, building under the gregs-games name, with card art by Nix Bee and sound work by Sybersyn. It is made in Unity and runs as an HTML5 build, so the whole thing loads in a browser tab. Instead of swords, spells and monsters, your deck is packed with bench presses, curls, protein shakes and naps. More than 200 cards exist in the pool, and four starting bodybuilders each bring a different deck and their own way of attacking a show. Player ratings sit at 4.5 out of 5 across hundreds of votes on the store page, which is strong for a small indie build.
How Get Yoked Turns Training Into a Deck
Every competition hands you one target: hit a minimum amount of Gains before your days and stamina run out. Workout cards add Gains to whatever muscle group you are chasing, and the numbers race upward fast when a combo lands. The catch is Fatigue. Stack too many heavy sessions and an Injury knocks a muscle group down, cutting into everything you built. Rest cards, recovery actions and supplements pull Fatigue back, and knowing when to coast matters as much as knowing when to push.
Between shows you grab new cards from rewards, react to random events and trim the deck into something that works. The campaign keeps lifting the Gains targets, and there are daily runs, an endless mode, challenge runs and seeded runs for players who like a fixed puzzle to solve. Each bodybuilder starts with a different deck, so it is worth sampling two or three before settling on a favourite.
Why Short Runs Work Here
A show usually wraps in a few minutes, which makes the game easy to squeeze into a break. Most of the tension comes from small trades. One more set today, or a fresh bodybuilder for tomorrow. Greed is the usual killer, like leaving a pile of Fatigue on the bar before a final and then watching an Injury eat the whole run. Plain rest cards look boring until the schedule gets tight, and then they save everything.
Unlocks Beyond the Podium
Winning competitions unlocks cosmetics, so shorts, tattoos, hairstyles, shoes and gloves all end up on the table. It is a light reward system, but posing a ridiculous bodybuilder after a rough run never gets old. The endless and seeded modes give the deck more to chew on once the campaign starts asking for serious Gains.
Controls for Desktop, Tablet and Phone
Everything happens with the mouse or a finger tap, and the interface is built around one action. The full list is small:
- Left click a card to pick it up or play it.
- Drag and drop cards when a target needs choosing.
- Click the buttons on screen to confirm a move and roll the day forward.
No keyboard is needed, and the card layout stays readable at smaller screen sizes. Anyone comfortable with a mouse or a touchscreen will figure it out within a minute.
