Fancy Pants Adventure World

The screen pops up like a doodle come to life, bright scribbled hills and a skinny, fedora wearing stick guy standing on a cardboard platform, waiting. The menus are hand drawn and casual, nothing fancy cluttering the start, you just want to press something and go.

Playing feels bouncy and smooth, like you are surfing momentum more than just pressing buttons. You run, jump, slide and sometimes spin through squiggly levels, collecting little shiny bits, finding secret paths and chucking enemies with well timed jumps. The controls are tight enough that chaining a run into a wall jump into a slide actually feels satisfying, and the art makes it oddly charming. I like how the movement rewards small risks, it keeps you messing about to find faster routes.

The basic loop is simple, you pick a level, dart through platforms, avoid hazards, stomp or spin on foes, and hunt for hidden areas and collectibles. Levels are short but packed with optional shortcuts, and some sections turn into speed runs if you feel like it. A casual piece of advice, try sliding into corners and then jumping out, you will find a lot of secret doors that way.
