You load Bomb It and the whole screen is this cheery maze of blocks and little cartoon characters, bombs sitting like lumpy presents that start to tick the moment you blink.
Basically you run around the grid, drop bombs to blow up soft blocks and other players, grab power ups and try not to get blown to bits. Matches are short, messy, sometimes stupidly funny. It plays a lot like Bomberman, Bombergrounds, BombSquad and Bomber Friends, so if you know those you know what to expect.
It feels frantic and dumb in a good way, and winning by trapping someone with a well placed blast never stops being satisfying. The single player rounds are fine, but it shines when you annoy a buddy online or on the same keyboard.
Controls are simple, use arrow keys or WASD to move, space to plant a bomb, and sometimes shift or another key to kick or throw bombs depending on the version. Menus use the mouse. Don’t stand next to your bomb, bait enemies into corridors and let power ups stack before you commit to a push, that usually works better than rushing in.
