Blob Opera
You load the page and four goofy, brightly colored blobs are staring at you like tiny opera divas. Each one has a different range, and they wobble when you move the mouse over them.
Basically you make harmonies by moving the blobs. Click and drag or tap to move them up and down to change pitch, click to make them sing, and hit the mic button if you want them to follow your voice. There is a record/play control so you can loop weird little choruses and play them back.
It feels silly and calming at the same time, like doodling with sound. Playing is mostly fiddling with positions, nudging two blobs together for a chord, or teasing one into a goofy run. It gets oddly musical even if you have zero theory. I find it addictive for five minute breaks.
- Controls: click and drag or tap to move blobs, click to trigger, mic to sing along, record to loop.
- What you do: arrange pitches to make chords, experiment with timing, record short loops.
- Casual advice: if you want a fuller sound, nudge the lower blobs close together and keep the top blob moving for melody. Try simple intervals first, then stack them.
- Similar toys: if you like this, try Incredibox, Patatap, Chrome Music Lab, ToneMatrix for more playful sound experiments.
