N Game

N Game is a tiny nimble ninja platformer about timing and patience.

It feels like someone took a precision runner and stripped it down to the bones. You zip, bounce off walls, die a lot, and the soundtrack is oddly soothing while you rage. What you basically do is grab the little gold, avoid mines and turrets, and get to the exit before time runs out. Levels are short so mistakes hurt but are cheap to retry.

I like it because it rewards tiny skill improvements. Also it is unfair sometimes and I love that for reasons I cannot justify. Controls are simple, using keyboard for run and jump and mouse for menus, though you will mostly be tapping arrow keys and the spacebar without thinking. Movement is tight but with a floaty hangtime that lets you pull off cool wall jumps if you learn it.

Casual advice: stop rushing, learn momentum, watch enemy patterns, and use the retry button as a friend not an enemy. If you like this you might also enjoy Super Meat Boy, Celeste, VVVVVV, I Wanna Be The Guy, or The Impossible Game. Tiny, precise, maddening, and strangely addictive. My bias: I prefer the brutal short runs over long handholding levels.
