Vex Try To Fly is a physics launch adventure game about firing a stickman out of a cannon and keeping him in the air for as long as possible. You lock the angle, catch the power meter near the top, then manage the flight with slams and boosters. It plays in the browser with no download.
What Vex Try To Fly Is About
The setup is simple. A cannon sits under an endless sky, and Vex, the little stickman from the older Vex platformers, is the payload. There are no spike corridors or checkpoints here, just one number that matters, the distance counter. Every launch is a fresh attempt at pushing that number a bit further than the last one.
The air is busy, which keeps things interesting. Bounce platforms throw Vex back up, wind currents carry him along, and portals, jetpacks and jump potions show up to stretch a good run even further. Coins hang in the air as well, and they are not decoration. They feed the upgrade menu after the flight ends. The whole thing is an arcade distance game at heart, and it never pretends to be anything bigger.
Momentum Decides Every Run
Each attempt opens with the cannon swinging up and down while you line up a direction. A power meter starts filling, and firing at the right moment sends Vex tumbling into the sky. After that it is pure physics. Gravity pulls him down, a slam pushes him toward the ground, and bounce pads convert a well timed dive back into altitude.
Traps and hard landings cost health, and once the bar empties the run is over. You keep the coins you collected and spend them on the cannon, the slam or the boosters, so even a bad flight moves the long game forward. It came out on 16 June 2026 as an HTML5 build that runs on desktop, tablet and mobile browsers. The rating sits at 7.1 from seven votes, a small enough pile that the score will probably drift around for a while.
How the Controls Work
The whole game runs on a single input, which is exactly why it feels natural on a phone. There is no keyboard layout to learn and no extra buttons hiding anywhere.
- A left click on a computer, or a tap on a phone or tablet, locks the cannon angle when the barrel points where you want it.
- One more left click or tap fires the cannon. The closer the power meter is to full, the stronger the launch.
- During the flight, a left click or tap makes Vex dive downward in a slam.
- Aim that slam at a bounce pad or a trampoline and he gets flung back into the sky with his speed mostly intact.
Bad timing causes most lost runs. Firing while the meter is still climbing wastes the launch, and slamming into solid ground instead of a pad costs health for nothing. The one-button setup looks simple, and it is, but the timing window on a bounce keeps it from feeling automatic. Landing a slam on a small moving pad is genuinely satisfying, and that is the skill the game quietly asks you to build.
