Five Nights at Diddy’s is a free browser horror game in the FNAF style, and your job is to survive five nights inside a mansion that wants you gone. You flip through security cameras, watch every room, and click whatever keeps danger away from your door until 6 AM. No download, it just runs in the browser.
The setup is a party invite that goes sideways. You arrive at Sir Sean Diddy’s mansion expecting a VIP night, and instead you get a five night survival shift full of jump scares and things moving around in the dark. JosephW.WrightProductions built it on HTML5, and Five Nights at Diddy’s plays like one of those old flash era horror games where half the fear comes from what you cannot see on the monitors.
What makes it work for me is the pacing of the danger. Nothing rushes you at the start of a night. You get a few quiet minutes, you start to relax, and then a camera feed shows movement and your whole plan changes. The mansion has plenty of rooms to track, and the pressure keeps building as the week goes on. I got caught on night two because I trusted a silent hallway.
How Each Night Shift Works
Every shift starts at midnight and ends at 6 AM. You sit with a camera panel that covers eleven feeds, labeled 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 3, 4a, 4b, 5, 6 and 7, and each one looks at a different part of the property. Dining Room, Front Door, Living Room, Down Rest, Down Hall, Up Rest, Up Hall, Stairs and the Back Door all appear on the feeds. Nothing stays still for long. You switch views, spot movement, and react before the threat reaches your room.
The decisions stay simple on paper. Watch, click, repeat. In practice the nights get mean fast, because the same patterns stop working and you have to read the feeds more carefully. A quiet camera is not always good news. Late in a night the safe option can flip on you, and that is the part that kept me leaning forward in my chair.
Extra Nights and Custom Difficulty
There is also a sixth night that throws more chaos your way, plus a Custom Night mode where you set how aggressive the characters behave. Cranking those settings turns every camera check into a gamble, while lower settings give you room to learn the map and test ideas. That range is a nice buffer for players who need a warm up before the real thing.
Controls You Will Use All Night
- Mouse: move the cursor across the camera panel to pick a room and switch between the eleven feeds.
- Left click: opens the camera feed you selected so you can study the room.
- Left click on interactive items: triggers the buttons and objects in your room when something gets close.
- The whole game runs on the cursor, no keyboard keys are required to finish a shift.
Do not park on one screen for too long. If a feed looks empty, cycle through the cameras nearest your room and keep moving. Players who rotate their attention last longer, and standing still is how most nights end early.
