Cut the Rope 2

Cut the Rope 2 is a free browser puzzle game where you slice ropes to feed candy to Om Nom. This sequel lets you drag the little green monster around the level, and all 168 stages run in your browser with no download and no account.

What Makes Cut the Rope 2 Different

The original game kept Om Nom parked in one spot while you cut ropes around him. In this sequel he can move. You swipe or drag the little guy across platforms, which changes the whole puzzle. A rope that was out of reach becomes simple once you park him at the right angle.

That single change makes Cut the Rope 2 feel like a bigger game than the first one. The candy is still the goal, and every level asks the same question: how do you get the sweet from its starting point into Om Nom’s mouth without dropping it onto a spike or into the path of a spider.

Long time fans will notice the tone has not changed. Om Nom grins, blinks, and reacts to every near miss, which softens the sting when a plan falls apart.

168 Levels and Seven Nommies

ZeptoLab packed the sequel with 168 levels spread across seven worlds, and each world is watched over by a different Nommie. You meet the little crew one at a time, and each one brings a fresh twist: a new rope type, a moving platform, or a hazard that punishes sloppy cutting.

Seven worlds means seven sets of hazards and rope gimmicks, so the game rarely repeats the same trick twice. The game first landed on iOS in December 2013 and on Android in March 2014. The build on this page is the official HTML5 version, so it runs in a desktop browser or a phone browser without a store install.

Cutting, Dragging, and Timing

Controls are easy to explain and hard to master. Drag across a rope with the mouse, or slide your finger on a phone, and the rope snaps. Click or tap Om Nom and drag him to a new spot whenever a level gives you room to move. On a desktop, the mouse does everything, cut and drag included, and there are no extra buttons to learn.

Timing is where the difficulty lives. Let go of a rope a heartbeat too early and the candy swings past the target. Cut a beat too late and it lands on spikes. The early levels forgive you. The later ones do not.

Why the Physics Still Hold Up

Rope physics is the heart of the series, and the sequel leans on it harder than the original. Swinging candy builds momentum, and a well timed cut can send it flying across the whole screen. Spiders, frogs, and spikes all react to the same physics, so half the fun is watching a plan fall apart in a funny way.

The best puzzles here give you two or three ropes and one clear goal, then let you find a solution the designers may not have intended. Physics puzzles live on that freedom, and this one hands it to you early.

Where to Look in a Tough Level

Start every tough level by spotting the candy, not the ropes. Find the path the sweet needs to travel, then work out which cuts make that path happen. When a level feels impossible, move Om Nom first. A different position often turns a hard puzzle into an easy one.
