the little green guy just stares at you with those huge eyes. the candy dangles on a rope, wobbling slightly like it knows you’re about to do something dumb. i totally sent that first piece swinging straight into a spider the first time i played, wasn’t even close, just chaotic flailing.

what your fingers actually do

you’re just swiping ropes to feed candy to a tiny green creature named Om Nom. each level has three stars to grab on the way down. some ropes hold the candy up, some are in your way. later there’s those inflatable bellows that puff air, spikes, electric zappers, and these hat wearing snails that crawl along the ropes messing up your timing. i always forget the snails exist until one eats my candy mid swing.

honestly the star collecting becomes an obsession way faster than it should. you’ll replay a level twelve times because that third star is just sitting there taunting you, wrapped in a bubble you popped half a second too late. nobody talks about how much time gets eaten by the star grind.

controls

everything happens with a finger swipe or a tap. swipe your finger across any rope to cut it. tap on bubbles to pop them. tap on air bellows to puff air at the right moment. that’s the whole control scheme, clean and simple, which makes it sting even more when you mess up because you can’t blame a complicated button layout. just your own impulsive swiping.
