Dead Strike

Dead Strike is a free browser first-person shooter about carving through endless zombie waves in ruined city streets. You move with the keyboard, aim and fire with the mouse, and swap guns mid-fight while reloading on the fly. It plays instantly in desktop, tablet and mobile browsers, with no download needed.

A Ruined City Overrun by Zombies

Streets are wrecked, buildings are hollow shells, and no corner stays quiet for long. Every mission pushes you deeper into hostile ground where zombies pour in from all sides and ammo feels thinner than it should. The build comes from 1Games.IO and launched in March 2026. It sits at 9 out of 10 from a small first batch of ten votes, which is a thin sample but a promising one.

Dead Strike leans on pressure rather than jump scares. I went in expecting another generic wave shooter and stayed for the pacing, because the game keeps squeezing you without ever feeling unfair. The 3D visuals are clean for a browser title, and load times stay short.

How the Zombie Waves Work

Each run is one mission in a hostile zone, and the waves roll in without much breathing room. Some zombies sprint straight at you, others shamble and lunge when they get close, and a few soak up more damage than they should. You pick targets, keep space between yourself and the pack, and reload before the magazine runs dry, since a dry gun in the middle of a wave is how good runs end.

Headshots matter, and so does moving. Stand still in an open lane and the horde folds around you fast. Fall back toward a narrow street, funnel them, and the same wave turns manageable. That push and pull is the part I like most, because it rewards patience as much as aim.

Clearing waves pays out currency. The currency feeds the upgrade bench, and better gear opens tougher zones. Spread upgrades a little at the start instead of dumping every coin into one rifle, because later missions throw different pressure at you.

Dead Strike Controls on Keyboard and Mouse

The input setup is standard for the genre, which is exactly what you want when a wave is closing in. Everything is shown on the game page, and it takes one mission to get comfortable.

  • WASD or the arrow keys move your character.
  • Mouse controls where you aim.
  • Left click fires the equipped weapon.
  • R reloads the current gun.
  • Mouse wheel switches weapons.

Reloading is the one to respect. Learn the timing early, and treat the mouse wheel as a quick escape hatch when a heavy gun runs dry in a crowd. Keep one upgraded sidearm as a panic option and you will survive a lot more mistakes.

Guns, Upgrades and Special Skills

More than fifty firearms fill the arsenal, and they play differently. Shotguns shred packs up close, rifles carry the mid-range fights, and the heavy weapons chew through armored zombies once those start showing up. Upgrades boost damage, accuracy, reload speed and magazine size, so an early favorite can stay useful for a long time.

Special skills are the other half of the kit. They flip a losing fight when a wave stacks up against you, and learning when to hold one back is half the strategy. A seasonal battle pass and leaderboards give the grind a direction, though I mostly kept playing to push one more mission.

It all runs in the browser with no install, on desktop, tablet and mobile, and the game has been patched since release. For a free game, the amount of gear to chase is genuinely surprising.
