Fish It Online is a free browser fishing and selling game. You explore a small island, cast your line into the water, catch as many fish as you can, and sell them for gold to buy better gear. No download, it runs instantly in your browser and it works on desktop, tablet and phone.

A calm island loop of casts and catches

The island hands you a starter rod and a quiet shoreline. You walk down to the water, hold the cast button to build up power, then let it fly and wait. When a fish bites, a reeling struggle starts and you have to answer the pull in time. Miss the timing on a rare one and it gets away, which stings a little every single time. The pace is slow on purpose. Some casts take a while, and that is the point of this kind of game.

Gold, rods and a fish index to fill

Every catch is worth gold, and gold buys progress. Stronger rods improve luck, speed and control, different bobbers attract particular species, and potions hand out temporary boosts to luck, speed and mutation odds. The fish index logs everything you drag out of the water, including mutated variants, so the collection side keeps you busy long after the first few catches. Island NPCs hand out quests that pay experience and rare items, and once you buy a boat the distant waters open up with tougher species to hunt. WASD or the arrow keys move your character.
Right mouse button rotates the camera.
Left mouse button interacts with objects and handles fishing actions.
Numpad 1 equips the starter rod.
Numpad 2 opens the rod list.
Numpad 3 opens your item inventory.

Tablets and phones get touch controls, but I prefer the keyboard and mouse for the reeling fights since a mouse gives finer reactions, and the numpad makes swapping rods painless.

Habits that help after the first hour

Hang on to rare fish instead of selling them right away, quests often ask for specific catches and a full inventory beats a second trip. Charge the cast a bit longer when you want to reach deeper water, and watch how hard the line pulls instead of the fish itself, the struggle cue is what you are meant to answer. Upgrade the rod before spending on fancy bobbers. The rod carries you through the common species, and a bobber only starts paying off once you are hunting one particular fish for the index.
